| Abstract | The Integrated Monitoring Programme for physical, chemical and biological parameters of the Romanian marine coastal waters has the following objectives:
1. The assessment of the Romanian transitional, coastal and marine waters quality based on the analyzing of the physical, chemical, and biological parameters in compliance with the European Directives (WFD 2000/60/CE; MFSD 2008/56/CE.
2. Identification of the main pressures and impacts influencing the quality status of the marine ecosystem.
3. Elaboration of the anual report on the state of the marine environment.
The assessment is carried out by analyzing the following indicators:
3.1 Physico-chemical and eutrophication indicators in the sea water;
3.2 Contamination indicators (inorganic and organic pollutants) in seawater, sediments and organisms;
3.3 Biological Indicators: phytoplankton, zooplankton, zoobenthos, phytobenthos, fish;
3.4 Microbiology indicators.
