| Abstract | The project PL0223 „Information exchange system about the state of the Vistula Lagoon ecosystem in the frame of Polish-Russian cooperation in the border area' was finalized on 30 April 2011. The project was co-financed by the NFM.
The project was carried out by the Department of Oceanography and Baltic Sea Monitoring of the IMGW PIB Maritime Branch in Gdynia with the Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA) as the Norwegian partner and Russian partners from the Kaliningrad area. The project duration was October 2008 - April 2011.
All the planned activities in the project implementation plan and expected results have been achieved.
The most important goal of the project was obtained within the Activity 1 - development of a permanent framework of the Polish-Russian co-operation concerning the exchange of data on the status of the Vistula Lagoon. The framework was set in the form of an agreement on co-operation and data exchange.
The first agreement in the history of IMGW PIB co-operation with the Kaliningrad region, entitled: 'Agreement on the exchange of current measurement data and meteorological, hydrological and oceanographic information' between the relevant services of the IMGW PIB and Kaliningrad Oblast was signed on 29 March 2011 (http://www.baltyk.pogodynka.pl/index/aktualnosci/Zakonczenie_projektu).
