| Abstract | Black Sea is very important for economy and welfare of the Turkey. Moreover, it is the largest sea that have anoxic water body, being a unique natural laboratory. However, our knowledge on the biogeochemical dynamics about the interface between the deep sea and sediments is quite deficient. It has been known from Black Sea-like systems that dynamics of this layer provide significant feedbacks. In this Project, models that represent detailed biogeochemistry of sediment column under anoxic and suboxic layers in Black Sea will be created building on a broad data set that investigator has acquired. With this new model, benthic transformations of redox sensitive sulphur, metal species and nutrients will be investigated.
