| Abstract | Economic and sustainable use of aquatic resources is possible by knowing every aspect of aquatic ecosystems. Ichthyoplankton data are also important sources of aquatic ecosystems. When Teleost fish eggs and larvae are important pelagic, these planktonic forms are called ichthyoplankton. For understand ecosystem dynamics, nesting times of fish, determining spawning areas, and even estimating spawning stock biomass can estimate if appropriate methodology use
With the project, the sampling will be carried out in the Gulf of Antalya with monthly periods of 8 stations selected by taking into consideration the river entrances, discharge point, distance to the coast, depth and flow characteristics. Physical and chemical parameters such as temperature, salinity, oxygen and pH will be measured with CTD. During sampling and water sampling will be done from depth contours to determine chlorophyll-a values. The depth of the stern of each station will be determined. The ARAMA-1 ship owned by AKSAM will be used to samples. The collected samples will be diagnosed in the lowest possible taxonomic level.
In this study, the standard recommended by FAO for quantitative ichthyoconcrete sampling will be followed. In this direction, the Bongo-60 plankton network, consisting of two 60 cm diameter hoops with 200 and 500 μm mesh widths, it will be obliquely pulled from a distance of 5 m from shallow stations at 100 m and from a depth of 100 m at deepest stations. The samples obtained will be transported to the laboratory in boron-buffered formaldehyde solution with a final concentration of 4%, where they will be extracted from the zooplankton and diagnosed at the lowest possible taxi. Then the abundance of eggs and larvae of the species in the unit area will be calculated and the breeding times of the species will be determined. This information will be extremely helpful in monitoring changes in the ecosystem as well as the fisheries management.
The obtained data will be handled together with the environmental conditions collected at the same time on site, and a final report will be written, including evaluations for fisheries management.
