| Description | |
| Abstract | The main objective of the ProDATA project is studding of the processes in the sea, which depend on the temporal and spatial variation of the key oceanographic parameters, first of all temperature and salinity of the sea. The research is based on the long-term monitoring of these two physical properties of seawater along the Montenegrin coast. The small scale information oceanographic system with a database and three permanent marine observation stations along the coast has been established within this national project. Two stations are located in the Bay of Boka Kotorska ( Kotor and Tivat Bay) and one in Bar at the southern part of the Montenegrin coast. Permanent stations are equipped by CT data loggers observing temperature and salinity of the bottom seawater layer in delayed mode. The station in Kotor Bay is additionally equipped with small autonomous CT sensor for in situ real time observing of the temperature and salinity of the subsurface seawater layer (1m bellow the sea-surface). The obtained data are long-term stored in the database for metadata and data of the Institute of Marine Biology and are free available to users through the created Institute’s web page: https://prodata.oceanography.me. By integrating the data into the SeaDataNet standardized Pan-European infrastructure for ocean and marine data management (SeaDataCloud project), the data exchange and their cross-border usability will be provided.
