| Abstract | Real-time in-situ meteorological and oceanographic data is exceedingly required for science,
marine industry and safety at the see. This data allows assessing the actual seastate and improvement of modeling techniques and forecasts. A pilot open sea monitoring project was initiated by Bulgarian Institute of Oceanology and completed in the frame of public-private cooperation between the Institute of Oceanology and gas exploration company Melrose Resources Sarl.
