| Abstract | Within the program "Investigation of potentially suitable locations for mariculture in the open area of the Montenegrin coast" the examination of suitable locations for mariculture was conducted at a total of 9 positions in the open part of the Montenegrin coast in accordance with the recommendations of the FAO AZA Concept. The main goal of the program is to define the suitability of locations for mariculture in the open part of the Montenegrin coast by creating a baseline study that involves monitoring of different parameters and criteria, and recommendations for the cultivation technology proposed for suitable location. This includes defining the maximum number of cages, buoys and/or other potentially suitable equipment that can be used, along with the assessment of the maximum production capacity, species that can be grown, and defining the impact zone of the farm on the environment. The program is financed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Montenegro through agro-budgetary measures.
