| Abstract |
The objective of the new monitoring programme is to perform researches and preparation of the assessments of the state of the Baltic Sea ecosystem, taking into account new elements including marine litter and underwater, ambient noise in the marine environment. The program conforms new requirements arising from the Polish Water Law which transposes the European Parliament and Council Directive 2008/56/EC of 17 June 2008 establishing a framework for Community action in the field of marine environmental policy (The marine strategy framework directive - MSFD) and with the provisions of the Convention for the protection of the marine environment of the Baltic Sea area (HELCOM), in respect of the research and assessment of the state of the ecosystem of the Baltic Sea.
In frame of the programme the following measurements are to be carried out: physical parameters (6 times in each year), nutrients (6 times in each year), biological variables (phytoplankton 5 times per year, zooplankton 5 times per year, macrozoobenthos 1 time every year, fitobentos 2 times per year), monitoring of hydrographic conditions, harmful substances (in water, fish and organisms), marine litter, and underwater noise at the basic and reference stations in the framework of the implementation of the programme for monitoring of marine waters in accordance with article 4. 11 and annex V of the MSFD in period 2023-2025 |
