| Abstract | Aim : A study of the physical, chemical, biological and geological parameters is to be examined within the Thermaikos Gulf. Objective : The Gulf of Thermaikos has been the object of earlier research, carried out by the National Centre for Marine Research. The oceanographic studies produced during the experimental stage are currently available. Further studies include, a monitoring project which will be carried out in the Metropolitan area, with the purpose of investigating the physical, chemical, biological and geological parameters following the establishment of a sewage waste unit in the above-mentioned area. To complete the project it is now proposed to investigate selected monitoring stations in the area. Each station will be inspected at seasonal intervals and at three depths. |
