| Description | |
| Abstract | OROMA has the objective to present the necessary information on the most actual status of the water quality and the coastal bathymetry and related processes as erosion, sediment transport and deposition. For this OROMA will continue to develop innovative tools for mapping and presenting phytoplankton and suspended matter dynamic, morphodynamics and related processes on large areas in nearly real time. The OROMA team consisting of 6 developers and 4 end users (coastal management) will follow the issue to convert scientific based knowledge into the most actual thematic information to be distributed via electronic network Four test sites in four European countries have been selected for experimental monitoring and validation in this project. For each of the test sites the responsible coastal management is included as full partner (IMGW, RWS, ALR, and WWK) within the consortium. The test sites are: 1. Marsdiep (The Netherlands), a tidal inlet between the Dutch island Texel and the northern part (Den Helder) of the Netherlands in the North Sea; 2. Lister Tief (Germany), a tidal inlet between the Danish island Romo and the German island Sylt in the North Sea; 3. Western Scheldt (The Netherlands), part of the entrance channel to the port of Antwerp (Belgium); and 4. Gulf of Gdansk (Poland) with the mouth of the river Vistula in the Baltic Sea. |
