| Abstract | The Programme, implemented on behalf of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Regional Environment Office by the Marine Biology Laboratory in Trieste, with the contribution of the newely-founded Regional Agency for the Conservation of the Environment (ARPA - Agenzia regionale per la protezione dell'ambiente).The programme aims to monitor the health of the sea and study the serious problems - known collectively as the 'dirty sea' - that were repeatedly hitting the northern Adriatic basin, to the detritment of the tourist and fishing industries. |
