| Abstract | The National Program of Coastal Oceanography (PNOC) aims at studying the coastal zones which are directly subjected to the pressures of human activities.
It includes several regional building sites:
- The Atlantic building site aims to study the evolution of contaminants on the Atlantic plateau and more particularly that of cadmium resulting from the Gironde. Indeed, the Gironde constitutes an important source of dissolved cadmium provision for the adjacent coastal environment.
- The Channel building site
- The building site of the bay of the Seine
- The building site of the bay of Villefranche
